Home Remodel-Spanish Villa Design in Huntington Beach

A Spanish Villa design for a home remodel in Huntington Beach, California.

Our clients wanted new residential face lift for their large 60’s tract home. This split level residence had shown its aged, but it still was in great condition!

A few details for our Spanish Villa Design renovation project…

So, we started by removing existing exterior elements. Such as, removing the old mansard roof of the existing residence. Also, removing the existing large window that was in the living room. Then we started to redesign the existing home exterior elevations into a Spanish villa style.

We started to add new stucco decorative cornice and arched trim details. Also, the exterior stucco was resurfaced with an hand trowel finish. Added tall slender french doors, authentic to the period style. New decorative wrought iron handrails were added as well. A new heavy rough sawn exposed patio cover was created for the upper deck area over the garage.  This structure allowed for new bougainvillea plants to have something to climb onto for summer shade. These were our first steps to enhancing the old residence back to life.

This Orange County’s Spanish Villa home remodel was designed by Myles Nelson McKenzie Design in Newport Beach. Contact us today! We would enjoy discussing an period home design for your residential renovation.
