From Myles Nelson McKenzie Design in Bluffton, a Lowcountry new home design for our clients located in Saint Helena Island, South Carolina. The project location is near Dataw Island. The property has spectacular island marshland views.
Because of the surrounding marshland flood zones, the new custom home design was developed as a raised residence. Additionally, this is to meet the FEMA flood zone requirements as well.
Lowcountry New Home Design Features
The proposed new home design consists of a large 1680 square foot 4 car garage with a workshop on the ground level.
On the second floor, which is the main living level. It is situated 10 feet above the finish grade. There is the front main entry with an open porch. Also, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 full-size bathrooms. Additionally, the Chef-style kitchen, dining, and large great room are also located on the second-floor level. With views to the beautiful large ancient live oak trees and the vast marshland, an extra-large screened-in porch is placed on the rear side of the custom home design.
On the upper third floor level, there is a rear-facing master suite consisting of a spa-like private bath. Additionally, the master closet is attached to the master bath. At this moment, there is another open porch. But that will likely become another screened-in covered porch.
