A new custom home design for our clients in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The new home will be located on the northwest end of Hilton Head Island.
For the new three story residence, which is 3502 square feet in total inhabitable space size. It will have five bedrooms, four baths with the large master suite on the main floor.
Follow the wide front staircase up to the main floor of the residence. This is where the main residence entry is located, adjacent to the the large front porch. And for those summer nights, enjoying the cool breeze from the river, a large rear screened in porch, is a great place to relax and enjoy the evenings.
A secondary bedroom and bathroom, along with the master bedroom suite, a large great room, the dining room and open chef style kitchen are all located on the main floor. On the upper floor, there are two bedrooms and two full baths developed for the space.
Lowcountry Home Features
The exterior homestyle of the new residence is designed with traditional southern Lowcountry design elements. For this 3502 square foot new home design, the design elements are simple, very functional and of course, elegant.
A few of the exterior homestyle features are the large spacious porches with broad standing seam metal hip and gable end roofs. Red brick with white sand mortar joints and the stucco veneer is made with Tabby shells.
For durability, the trim, board and batten vertical siding and shake siding will be from James Hardie. Their cement fiberboard siding material is the best.
Because of the Lowcountry’s high tide levels and hurricane flooding, a lot of the homes in the Lowcountry, such as our new custom home design have raised first floors. They are usually built on pilings (piers) or above large open crawlspaces.
