Our French Country home style from Myles Nelson McKenzie Design uniquely blends the charming rural French countryside, mainly Provence and the Loire Valley regions. This style marries the simplicity of farmhouse, ranch-style custom home designs with the elegance of grand chateaus, creating an intriguing and inspiring design. This custom home design was developed for our clients in the northern Los Angeles, California region.
Interior Design Features
Inside the home, it has a classic appeal with soft pastel colors, hand-painted walls, large fireplaces, arched ceilings, wood beams, plaster walls, and stone or wood floors. These elements create an inviting and cozy interior atmosphere, making you feel welcomed and comfortable.
As you enter the custom-designed residence through the covered front entry porch, you will enter a grand entry hall with a large staircase leading to the lower level. Beyond the stairs, you will find a classical wood-paneled library office and a rear porch.
To the right of the front grand entry hall is the owner’s hall, where the elegant large master suite and two exhilarating bedrooms are located.
On the other side of the main floor is a large side entry to the mudroom and laundry. There is a spacious chef-style kitchen. To the front of the kitchen is a custom oval dining room with access to the front and side porches. The dining room also features an oval-domed ceiling and an elegant fireplace.
The great room is in the middle of the residence. It is a classic French Chateau size, with elegant ceiling beams and a large walk-in fireplace. You can also step out to the front and rear porches and onto the outdoor cabana patio.
For the main floor of the residence is 4306 square feet, and there is a 1070-square-foot garage. There is also a 460-square-foot outdoor Cabana.
Lower Floor Design Features
The lower floor design includes a spacious media room with a kitchenette for snacks during movie nights. A large guest suite, a billiard game area, and a floor-to-ceiling glass-enclosed wine cellar are also located on the lower floor level. The media room has a state-of-the-art surround sound system and plush seating to create the ultimate cinematic experience. The guest suite features a luxurious queen-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom with modern fixtures, and a cozy sitting area. The wine cellar is meticulously designed with climate control, ensuring the bottle collection is stored optimally.
The lower floor square footage is 2174 square feet.
Exterior Design Features
The exterior of our French Country home style radiates timeless, inviting rustic charm. Our custom home design incorporates a mix of ranch-style custom home elements. As an example, we recessed wood-framed windows and doors. Utilized elegant wrought iron details, intricate brickwork, gracefully curved archways, smooth plastered pilasters, and soft, flowing building lines.
