The exterior of the new Lowcountry home design features Southern home design elements. These elements are simple, very functional, and elegant in form. The new home will be located on the northwest end of Hilton Head Island on a Lowcountry marshland property.
Floor Plan Features
Our design plan for the ground floor includes a spacious three-car garage that can easily accommodate multiple vehicles. We have also designed a large storage area where you can organize your tools, equipment, and other belongings. Additionally, we have created a convenient mud room entry that provides direct access to the upper floors of the primary residence. This entry is perfect for removing dirty shoes, coats, and other outdoor gear before entering the main living space.
The spacious three-story residence has five bedrooms and four baths. Upon entering the residence, you’ll find yourself on the main floor, accessible via the wide front staircase. You’ll find the main entry on this floor, conveniently adjacent to the large front porch.
The Lowcountry home design features a large screened-in porch at the rear, providing a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the cool breeze from the river in the Lowcountry. The main floor comprises a spacious master suite, a well-appointed bathroom, a sizable great room, a dining room, and an open chef-style kitchen. There is also an additional bedroom and bathroom. The house is designed to ensure the comfort of the new owners.
On the upper floor, you’ll find two additional bedrooms and two full baths, making this a spacious and comfortable residence perfect for families or those who love entertaining.
The final size of this new home is 3502 square feet. A new storage and mudroom room is located on the ground level, 1057 square feet. The three-car garage is 1080 square feet. A little over 700 square feet of exterior porch space is also available.
Exterior Features
A few of the exterior homestyle features are the large, spacious porches with broad-standing seam metal hip and gable end roofs, red brick with white sand mortar joints, and stucco veneer made with Tabby shells.
For durability, the trim, board-and-batten vertical siding, and shake siding will be from James Hardie. Their cement fiberboard siding material is the best.
Because of the Lowcountry’s high tide levels and hurricane flooding, many of the homes there, such as our new custom home design, have raised main floors. They are usually built on pilings (piers) or above large open crawlspaces.
