Our clients from Studio City, California, have an older property. They asked us at Myles Nelson McKenzie Design to design an LA Modern home design for it.
The existing residence needed to be rebuilt desperately. They loved the classic old Studio City neighborhood in Los Angeles with its mature landscape and trees. The property isn’t that large, and the allowable building footprint is only 2543.60 square feet. But it was big enough to design a new home for our clients as shown.
We showed them an older project we had designed for a client in Century City. This caught their eye because it was similar to the home style that they were looking for.
Features Of Our LA Modern Home
A few of the design features of our LA modern home design is that the new residence will provide great spaces for entertaining and still allow the family to feel comfortable.
Concept Floor Plans
The scale of the main floor level gives the residence a quaint feel. The spaces have a 1920s feel but with a modern touch. The front entry and entry hall, along with the kitchen and dining, are on one side, and the guest bedroom suite and powder room are on the right side behind the garage. The great room is two stories tall and overlooks the rear patio and pool.
The new home design has four bedrooms and four and a half baths. It has a two-story great room and dining room space. The master suite has a small Juliette-style balcony that opens over the two-story great room. Additionally, an exterior balcony overlooks the rear yard.
The media room on the second floor overlooks the dining area, the rear patio, and the pool. It features state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and comfortable seating. Making it the perfect spot for movie nights or watching the big game.
Large windows provide ample natural light during the day, while blackout curtains can create an authentic cinematic experience in the evening. The open layout ensures that anyone in the media room can easily engage with activities downstairs. But also combining privacy with a sense of connection to the rest of the home.
