A modern home design for clients in Las Vegas, Nevada. The custom home design was developed to fit the contemporary desert lifestyle of Las Vegas. The home design was created by Myles Nelson McKenzie Design for a distinctive large homesite in Queensridge.
We developed a concept design plan to fit our client’s needs and lifestyles. Traditionally, this is what we work with for each client on every project. This home concept design is a great starting point for developing the final design plan. At this stage, the floor plan is refined to suit the client’s needs.
Concept Floor Plan
Our modern desert home features a spacious great room connecting to the dining and chef-style kitchen. This expansive room leads to the outdoor living space through an extensive wall door system. The doors span the entire width, offering uninterrupted views of pool number one and a sprawling patio.
These open areas are perfect for embracing the desert’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Additionally, the guest casita is conveniently located next to pool number one, making it easily accessible.
The property features a primary residence with three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. The spacious master bedroom suite provides access to a large patio and a private pool, and there is a second, larger pool on the property.
A wrap-around driveway or motor court leads to the main entrance and a three-car garage, providing ample resident and guest parking space. The surrounding property area includes a xeriscape landscape, creating a welcoming and aesthetically desert-pleasing approach to the home.

At Myles Nelson McKenzie Design, we introduced the “Heart of Gold” series, which showcases new home designs tailored to various Las Vegas properties. The spotlight was on the exterior design, which encapsulated the modern desert lifestyle. The exterior texture color, “Heart of Gold” from Dunn-Edwards Paint, was subtly lightened to enhance the overall aesthetic of the Las Vegas home.
